Good news for Alex whose state of health is steadily improving and whose convalescence is progressing well. He made his first laps in Supermotard and hopes to be present again on his GSX-RR during the official tests on June 12 which will follow the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.

The Rins-Suzuki association in MotoGP got off to a bad start in Valencia the day after the last GP when Alex injured his vertebrae. His first Grand Prix in Qatar took place normally, but the unfortunate series would resume shortly after.

At the end of March, he was injured in motocross during training, slipping on a small stone while braking. At the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona, doctors detected a slight fracture of the right talus, without displacement but with edema. Doctors Xavier Mir and Eugenio Gimeno did not consider it necessary to intervene surgically and treated Rins with treatment based on magnetotherapy and physiotherapy. Alex took part in the Argentine Grand Prix a few days later despite the pain, but without really being able to defend his chances.

During testing for the following GP in Austin, he fell again, and this time he was diagnosed with displaced fractures of the radius and ulna at the left wrist. Takuya Tsuda replaced him at Jerez, and Sylvain Guintoli at Le Mans, as will be the case again at Mugello and Montmelo, before Rins does a test the following Monday during the official tests.

To alex rins, “according to the doctors I will be able to race in Assen, but I will try in Montmeló, although the team has made it clear that they want me to be 100% before getting back on the bike. If I had to make the decision I would be racing tomorrow, but I'm taking my time. I want to come back stronger. Currently, with the scooter on the road I feel the potholes a lot. I have the strength, but I still lack mobility and sensitivity in one pinky finger. »
