At Honda, we were rather heads down coming back from Silverstone…

On the one hand, the spearhead of Tokyo, Marc Marquez, had suffered the affront of an exploded engine in front of everyone, and on the other hand Dani Pedrosa, at the end of a particularly difficult weekend, could only save the furniture by reaching the finish line in a very discreet Lonely 7th position, more than 10 seconds from the leading group.

It must be said that the Spanish driver was never comfortable throughout the weekend on Her Majesty's lands.

14th in FP1, 17th in FP2, 9th in FP3, 16th in FP4, Dani Pedrosa nevertheless saved his qualification by going through Q1 and finally snatching seventh place on the grid, before falling back into the throes of a 17th position during warm up.

Dani Pedrosa, 7th at 10.944s: “The whole weekend was quite difficult for us on this track, but the team tried to give me the best bike possible and I tried to do my best during the race. I really gave it my all and my pace was better than during practice, almost a second faster than the rest of the weekend. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stay with the group at the front, but I will take the positive part, the fact that we managed to improve a little. We maintain the same gap to the championship lead, so we will put this race behind us and work to be stronger and fight at the front in the next races. »
