Claudio Domenicali, the Managing Director of Ducati Motor Holding, recently spoke about Lorenzo during a presentation in Rome of the Multistrada 1200 intended for the Carabinieri.

“Lorenzo hasn't yet found the balance between his style and our bike, said Domenicali. He has spent his entire career in MotoGP on a very different machine and the current situation is not easy for him.

“The Jerez race went well, with a podium in the end. Sixth place at Le Mans does not represent Lorenzo's ambitions. He had a very good comeback, a decent race in MotoGP, but we don't race to do decent races. That's not our goal.

Chaz Davies, Ducati's leading rider in the World Superbike Championship, recently enjoyed a few laps on the Desmosedici GP17, as a reward for his double WSBK victory at Imola. Would this open a door for him for a season in MotoGP?

« Chaz Davies in MotoGP? We have no intention of doing so, said Domenicali. Chaz achieves fantastic results in Superbike, riding in an extraordinary manner and is the only rider who can put a spoke in the wheels of the dominant Rea. »
