Of course, there was a significant list of retirements and the gap to the winner is quite significant. But what is taken is no longer to be taken and the team Tech3 part of the satisfaction of a factory KTM which sees its four RC16s classified in the points of a Grand Prix. Better, Hafizh Syahrin and Miguel Oliveira were not that far from Johann Zarco at the drop of the checkered flag...
Le Mans was a milestone for KTM. For the first time, all four MotoGP bikes from Mattighofen finished the MotoGP class race in the points. For Hafizh Syahrin, it is also a liberation.
After the race on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, at KTM, everything revolved around the Spaniard Pol Espargaro, who had just finished in 6th place on the RC16R, losing just under six seconds on Marc Márquez. Johann zarco was in the points. The success of the Red Bull KTM team ended with the Tech3 satellite riders, Hafiz Syahrin et Miguel Oliveira, who crossed the finish line with their machines in positions 14 and 15.
Because Olive tree conceded a 1,5 second penalty for cutting a turn, Syahrin was ranked ahead of the Portuguese. The Malaysian only conceded 2,5 seconds on zarco. Starting in 21st position, he was delighted with his first two points at the World Championship in 2019.
« I would like to thank all members of the team " said Syahrin. " I enjoyed this race. At first it was a little difficult to find the rhythm and speed, but it got better as the laps went by. I tried to fight with Miguel and stay close to him. He then made a mistake and I finished 14th. These two points mean a lot to me, I want to dedicate them to my family and the fans ».
Olive tree has explained : " it was a difficult race. We didn't do much dry riding over the weekend, so the settings weren't perfect. We then made some progress during the warmup. In the race, I was able to drive a little faster than in the morning. I had a few problems, but overall I would say the result is slightly better than in Jerez. This is the only positive thing for me, because the punishment annoys me a lot ».
