After his national event at Le Mans and two days of testing in Barcelona, Loris Baz returned to the track at Mugello for the Italian Grand Prix. Although he was the victim of a heavy fall during the last edition on the Tuscan route, the Frenchman appreciates this meeting on the calendar.
Ranked 19th in the opening session, Loris Baz nevertheless managed to improve by a little less than a second in the afternoon thanks to a time of 1'48.751. Riding the Desmosedici GP15, the Haut-Savoyard encountered some difficulties with the last specification before Michelin.
Faced with lower temperatures on Saturday morning, the Ducati rider intends to find a solution in order to get closer to the Top 10 and secure a new place in Q2.
Loris Baz (19th):
“It was a complicated day with the new tire; I wasn't at all the same as in Barcelona, I suffered from a lot of dribbling. We then tried to find solutions particularly during the afternoon. We have improved, but the feeling is not yet there. We will have two different machines to evaluate tomorrow. We will focus on the weight distribution, as well as the position of the bike.

The ranking is very tight, so I know that a place in Q2 is possible, but that is not our priority. Our goal is to have the best motorcycle for racing. I think the track offers less grip when it's hot. That being said, my time this afternoon was far from bad. Everyone will improve tomorrow and we will see what we are capable of. »
