Like every year at the same time, the Italian studio Milestone rewards us with a new game featuring our favorite championship. One year later – the correct one – MotoGP 20, what does his successor have in store for us?

Not much, to say the least. Let's start with the positives and the changes first, because there are still some.

I) Physics and graphics

The physics of the game have been changed, and it will take you some time to adjust to them. In Moto3 et Moto2, handling is rather easy but the MotoGP quickly gives you a hard time. After a few hours of play, it becomes altogether pleasant, without breaking three legs of a duck.

The graphics are nice but don't measure up to other racing games released recently. The textures are not crazy either (test carried out on XBOX ONE) and will not surprise you.

II) Long lapses and falls

Long laps (or long lap penalties in French) are FINALLY their appearance. Indeed, there is no need to recall that these have been in force since start of 2019. Additionally, the physics changes when you try to take a long lap, as does the view from the third-person camera. This will have the ability to annoy you to no end after a few tries.

A new falling system also appears. The latter is rather original, it must be admitted. To put it simply, when you fall, you can choose to pick up your motorcycle yourself, directing the rider. This could have been a good idea, except that the artificial intelligence reappears directly on his motorcycle! The functionality becomes useless.

What was just mentioned were the qualities, so hold on tight!

III) Content

The biggest problem with this game is the content. Apart from the poor career mode, which barely changes from last year, you have nothing to do solo. Yes, there’s still online shopping… and that’s it. Goodbye to the historical mode, present last year when the game was released and in numerous releases from the same studio over the last decade. That said, the old 500 tsp and other 990 tsp four stroke – the same as in MotoGP 13, more or less – are modeled.

La MotoE, just like the Red Bull Rookies Cup are not in the game on release day! The same goes for some Moto3 and Moto2 liveries, which will only be available in June. It is unacceptable !

The customization is no more advanced than last year. Don't expect big changes at this level.

Still no changing weather, while flag-to-flag races have been commonplace since the end of the 2013 season.

IV) Bugs

There are so many of them. For two years, Milestone has been ready to sell a game for 70 euros full of bugs. Motorcycles appearing on the track, improbable falls or other crashes. You will need patience!

V) Artificial Intelligence

One of the big black spots. No bunch battles to deplore in Moto3, and crashes involving around ten riders in each race. Some bots don't hesitate to leave the track and don't bother to get up if you attempt a daring overtake. A shame ! The game will surely be patched in the coming months (!) but in 2021, players should not have to endure this, even “day one”.

Conclusion:

6/20

A game to avoid, even if you are a fan of motorcycle Grand Prix. Wait a few months before launching so that the main bugs are fixed. If you absolutely want to start a career – as insipid and impersonal as possible, like last year – despite these warning lines, the game has been available since 22/04/21, on consoles (XBOX ONE, PS4 et Nintendo Switch) and PC.
