After his withdrawal in Portugal, Johan Gimbert (#77, Eagle-1 Racing Team, Kalex) makes its return thanks to the help ofEric de Seynes and its REDS team – Racing for Education, Development and Sport, which is expanding its development path by getting involved in the FIM JuniorGP thanks to a collaboration with Eagle-1 Racing Team.

Starting with the Jerez round, Johan Gimbert will start in the Moto2 category, supported by the technical and sporting structure of REDS.

This agreement represents a new step in the REDS project, born from the vision ofEric de Seynes with the aim of creating a training path dedicated to young riders, providing them with skills, experience and a shared working method to support them to the highest level of international motorcycling.

The first protagonist of this collaboration, the young French talent Johan Gimbert will continue his season in the Moto2 category of the FIM JuniorGP under the colors ofEagle-1 Racing TeamHe will be able to count on the technical and sporting support of the REDS structure, drawing on its experience in the Moto2 World Championship and the renewed support of the French Motorcycling Federation (FFM)His development path will also be monitored by Robert Locatelli, World Champion in the 125 category and Team Manager of the REDS Moto2 team, who will work closely with the rider and the Eagle-1 staff to promote his technical and sporting development.

Max Gazzarata, Team Principal of Eagle-1 Racing Team, expressed his satisfaction with the launch of this collaboration:

“I would like to thank Éric de Seynes for the trust he has placed in Eagle-1 and this project. Our goal is to contribute to building a genuine pathway dedicated to young riders, offering them a structured development program that prepares them for the transition to MotoGP and higher categories. The FIM JuniorGP is now one of the main springboards for talent in world motorcycling, and we will make all our experience, our organization, and the skills of our technicians available to bring this ambitious training project to life.”

The collaboration between REDS and Eagle-1 was born with the ambition to build an ever more structured development model, capable of supporting young talents, and in particular French riders, at each stage of their career, by sharing skills, working methodology and a common vision of sporting progression, with the objective of training the motorcycling players of tomorrow.

Stefano Bedon, REDS Moto2 Project Manager

“REDS’ entry into the FIM MotoJunior World Championship represents a natural step in the development of our project. We strongly believe in the development of young talent, and this collaboration with Eagle-1 allows us to start working with them even earlier in their journey, passing on the methodology, experience, and work ethic we have developed in the Moto2 World Championship. Our goal is to create a true continuity between JuniorGP and the World Championship, offering riders a professional environment in which they can learn, progress, and prepare for the challenges of the higher categories.”

The Moto4 field is shaping up to be very lively once again. Alvaro Lucas (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team) arrives undefeated and will try to continue its winning streak in order to extend its lead to more than 35 points.
Edoardo Savino (Leopard Junior) remains Lucas's closest rival in the championship after a difficult Race 2 at Estoril. Having suffered problems before the start, Savino finished 20th, thus missing the podium for the first time in the 2026 season.
Lorenzo Pritelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) and Victor Cubeles (Team Impala Honda) also remain in contention after their podium finishes in the second round, while Qabil Irfan (SIC – GRYD Racing) is still looking for its first podium after another fourth place.
