The MotoAmerica weekend at Laguna Seca was marked by a shocking and terrifying incident during the first SC-Project Twins Cup race at the legendary Corkscrew corner. In the midst of a battle in the pack, Avery Dreher found himself literally riding over the bike—and the back—of Treston Morrison, who had just crashed right in front of him.

The scene unfolded at high speed: Morrison lost the front end on the descent of the Corkscrew, slid, and ended up on the ground, perpendicular to the trajectory. Dreher, arriving at full speed, was unable to avoid either the motorcycle or the rider. He took off, passing over Morrison in an impressive maneuver that immediately froze the blood of the spectators..

Despite the violence of the impact and the spectacular fall, the incredible happened: Treston Morrison got back up almost immediately after the accident. More of a scare than harm, then, in what could have turned into a tragedy on one of the most tricky spots on the Californian circuit.

Under the video published by the discipline to report the incident, the driver concerned commented. "Besides, I want to say that I'm fine."

Treston Morrison nevertheless completed a difficult weekend with two retirements in as many races on his Yamaha. This accident serves as a reminder of how crucial safety and vigilance are in motorcycle racing, even in categories known for their proximity and intensity, such as the Twins Cup.
