While the GP22 tries to take over the GP21 in MotoGP, in the shadows, another chapter in the history of the brand is slowly coming to light. Her name is V21L and she hasn't been talked about yet. And yet, it is an immense challenge for the Borgo Panigale firm which wants to assert itself with this opus among the major players in new mobility. We are talking here about electric propulsion and a motorcycle which will supply, in 2023, the entire MotoE field. The tension is palpable and not just in the batteries. We work tirelessly at Ducati who keeps us up to date with this trendy video.

Ducati shows new images of its MotoE prototype, and after seeing the photos, during the first track test in Misano, in December 2021, here is the bike in action. These last months, Ducati analyzed the collected data, made various technical modifications and, above all, carried out an infinite number of tests.

Roberto Canè, Director of Ducati eMobility commented: “ from the moment we took the Ducati MotoE prototype to the track for the first time, development work on the project never stopped, not even for a moment. The hard work of the entire team pays off with continued progress which fills us with great satisfaction. In just four months, our prototype has already tackled the curves of some of the most important Italian circuits, providing positive responses. There is still a lot of work to be done, but the direction is certainly the right one ».

The V21L will celebrate the start of Ducati's electric era

The video released shows the Ducati MotoE at Vallelunga, ridden by  Alex De Angelis. The old pilot MotoGP, participated in the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup in 2019. He knows this environment perfectly. De Angelis officially joins the development team which, among the test pilots, can also count on the experience of Michele Pirro.

As of season 2023, Ducati will be the sole supplier of the MotoE category. For this reason, the development of the prototype V21L is crucial and it has the particularity of involving many sectors of the company. Ducati Corse and product R&D are thus united in this adventure, the aim of which is to create a high-performance motorcycle with the objective of lightness as a reference for an electric bike.

Let's go on an adventure! MotoE represents an important milestone in the history of the brand since it will celebrate the beginning of the electric era of Ducati. In the coming months, the Borgo Panigale company will make public further information and technical developments regarding the ambitious project. Elements which are already eagerly awaited.
