Marco Bezzecchi

Marco Bezzecchi has been declared unfit for the remainder of the German GP due to a fracture, linked to his violent crash during Q2.

Things are definitely not getting any better for Marco BezzecchiHe crashed heavily at the very beginning of qualifying, and a fracture was immediately feared given the way he was holding his arm. He had previously escaped injury despite three crashes during races in recent Grands Prix, including a particularly violent one 15 days ago in the Netherlands.

The Italian driver, moreover, has not yet recovered from it, and yesterday he confided that he was suffering greatly due to numerous bruises on his upper body and ankles. Despite this, he managed to have a good day and automatically advance to Q2. This morning, during FP2, he finished third in the session, which seemed a good omen for qualifying.

Unfortunately, he lost control of his RS-GP and suffered another heavy fall. This time, he wasn't able to escape unscathed. The Aprilia team indicated that he had fractured his left collarbone.

“Following his crash, Marco Bezzecchi was taken to the circuit’s medical center where, under the supervision of Dr. Angel Charte, MotoGP Medical Director, he underwent an X-ray which revealed a complete and displaced fracture of his left clavicle. This type of fracture requires surgery for optimal recovery and will be performed by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini in Italy. Marco Bezzecchi plans to return to Italy as soon as possible. We will keep you updated.”the team said in a statement.

The German Grand Prix for number 72 is therefore over. He will now have six DNFs in the last eight races. After an excellent start to the season, this end to the first half turned into a nightmare, but he will be able to benefit from the summer break to recover physically and hope to return to 100% in August to put this chapter behind him.
