Having undergone surgery nine days ago, Pedro Acosta feels ready for the Grand Prix MotoGP from Germany, where he hopes to turn the page on Brno and Assen.
Peter Acosta He arrives in Germany determined to put the recent Grands Prix behind him. Indeed, of the four races held in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, he only finished one, hampered by crashes, technical issues, and physical problems. At the Assen circuit two weeks ago, he was forced to retire. due to carpal tunnel syndrome which he hadn't spoken about and which was becoming increasingly debilitating.
Having lost feeling in the fingers of his right hand, the Spanish driver was forced to return to the pits and undergo surgery earlier than planned. The operation took place on Tuesday, nine days ago. Acosta He has not ridden a motorcycle since, and is waiting to get back on track tomorrow to assess his physical condition, once he has received the green light from the doctors.
"Everything went very well, so I'm delighted, because now I can sleep through the night." he explained. "I think I had more to lose from infection than to gain by doing a one-day trial. Tomorrow will be the real test."

However, he does not seem worried, but hopes to have a good weekend, so that he can start the summer break on a positive note, after an excellent start to the season, which then became complicated.
“If they give me the green light today, I have no doubts. It’s not a very demanding circuit for the right hand; I almost always ride left-handed, so I think that will help me too. I’ll get on the bike tomorrow to see how I feel in FP1, and from there I’ll set myself a realistic goal. It’s true that we need a good weekend after the two very complicated ones we’ve had, but we have to take it easy, see where we stand, and then do our best.”, he added.
