Diogo Moreira achieved his best Grand Prix result in Catalonia, despite the events and the heavy fall of his teammate.

The Catalan Grand Prix was particularly intense for the drivers MotoGPforced to make three starts and refocus each time, despite the tension and concern for Álex Márquez and Johann Zarco. Some lost a lot, like Jorge Martín, who was involved in a collision with Raúl Fernández, while others managed to come out on top, like Brad Binder. who started from the pit lane and ultimately finished seventh.

Diogo Moreira He too managed to capitalize on the last start, despite being directly affected, as one of the two injured riders was his teammate Johann Zarco, and the turmoil in the LCR garage was understandably intense. Having qualified 20th, he had climbed to 15th by the time of the first red flag.

Starting 14th on the grid, he entered the first corner in 11th position and then gained two places following the collision between Martín and Fernández. Running ninth for much of the race, he was overtaken late on by Luca Marini and Brad Binder, and subsequently dropped back from the leading group. Finishing tenth after Pedro Acosta's crash, he was ultimately classified ninth after Joan Mir's penalty.

Si Moreira This result equals his best performance, achieved in the sprint race of the French Grand Prix, and is also his best in the main race on Sunday. Until now, he hadn't finished higher than 13th. This solid performance allowed him to conclude a weekend that started poorly, even though, like everyone else, his thoughts were primarily with the two injured riders.

“The race was quite difficult because it’s never easy knowing that other riders have crashed and having to mentally refocus. I tried to isolate myself and stay concentrated, and in the end, we achieved a good result. The most important thing is that all the riders involved in the crashes are okay. Fortunately, my teammate is fine, and that’s the main thing. I’m happy to have scored points.”, did he declare.

The following day, he again finished ninth in the test, which proved very useful to him as a rookie. He was also among the drivers who completed the most laps, with 41 completed in the morning, as rain prevented the drivers from returning to the track in the afternoon.

“Monday’s tests are always useful, even if we’re quite tired after a race weekend. I was able to test some things we needed to try, and overall, it was a positive day. Every lap counts because I’m still learning a lot, and everything went well.”, he concluded.
