Fabio DiGiannantonio did not begin his summer break in the best way, concluding his first part of the season on a crash during the German Grand PrixHowever, he made few mistakes during the 11 GPs contested, which allowed him to seize third place in the championship and get within 16 points of the leader.

This was obviously before his crash. The Italian rider dropped to fifth place, but is still only 24 points behind. He remains fully in contention for the title at the moment, a first for him in [year]. MotoGPAlthough he had fought for the world title in Moto3, he did not have the time in Moto2, since he was promoted after a seventh-place finish.

Si Fabio DiGiannantonio Although he's no longer used to fighting for a title, he doesn't feel any pressure at the moment, considering it's far too early in the season. Furthermore, he's aware of his weaknesses and knows they could be a disadvantage against a rider as experienced as Marc Márquez.

“It’s not very different from other categories. In the end, when you’re fighting for the championship and you’re very close, it’s pretty much the same everywhere: you have to try to do your best and be the best version of yourself, without thinking about how it might end. For now, we’re in a phase of the season where we haven’t yet defined any strategies for our rivals; it’s still too early. So, at this stage, it’s a normal season, where I’m trying to give my best race after race.”, he explained.

“We’re working on my starts, because unfortunately, I’ve never been great with this Ducati. There’s also a physical reason why I can’t get a good start, like Bagnaia and Marc Márquez, for example. Beyond that, I want to improve and be more precise, especially with my clutch release. Then, I need to improve to avoid mistakes in qualifying and on the first lap, which are important, like those I made at Mugello, where I was performing well and was fast. I still have a lot of areas to improve.”

Adding to his troubles is the finger he injured during the Catalan Grand Prix, which caused him significant discomfort during the following five races, to the point that he had to undergo surgery. He hopes this will be a thing of the past by the start of the season in early August. "The summer break will give me the opportunity to work hard physically and focus on getting back to 100%."he concluded.
