No, because KTM was keeping an eye on things…

Dani Pedrosa rode with a KTM but it was for the prologue of the Erzberg rodeo in Styria a meeting closely followed by the best enduro stars. While the Red Bull KTM test rider, Mika Kallio strengthens the Austrian factory MotoGP team as technical advisor at the “Oakley Italian Grand Prix” at Mugello, his fellow test rider, Dani Pedrosa, is currently in Austria, in Styria, not far from Spielberg. He participates in the “World Enduro Super Series” (WESS) marking the Erzberg rodeo.

Pedrosa will participate in this enduro adventure launched 25 years ago by Karl Katoch. And the three-time world champion, who served the Repsol-Honda coat of arms in the MotoGP World Championship for 13 years by winning at least one victory every year until 2018, insisted on participating in the prologue over around 12 kilometers.

Red Bull and KTM, however, spared Pedrosa, by equipping his motorcycle with no time transponder while no Enduro KTM rider followed him.

« We don't want Dani to take this prologue too seriously, as he needs to stay fit for the MotoGP test in Brno next week." declared the Red Bull KTM team from Mugello, where Pol Espargaro sparks with his KTM RC16 with its advanced engine. “Yes, engine updates are proven to work » enthused the engine designer Kurt Trieb.
