Jack Miller finished his first season in MotoGP aboard the KTM and the results were not very encouraging. The RC16 still doesn't have the winning potential of his old Ducati Desmosedici, but the Australian rider was hoping for something more than just the podium achieved at Jerez. On his personal blog he admits that it was not one of the best years of his career and that in 2024 he will have to roll up his sleeves to keep his place in the factory team.

The disappointment experienced during the last race of the season at Valencia, where he fell while leading the race, remains. One of these incidents difficult to accept » and who made him grow “ one of those little cries, the kind that escape without realizing it ». Jack Miller warns that he is still in a phase of personal growth, even after a decade of presence in the MotoGP category. “ Every year that passes I get better and better…If you look at the results on paper, this year is probably the worst in recent times, but we have had a lot of changes and a lot of difficulties this season. We have overcome many difficulties ».

Jack Miller: “ KTM is the only manufacturer constantly fighting with Ducati »

Worse than that in the 2018 season, his first year with the Ducati of the Pramac team, where he finished the year 13th and without any podium. The manufacturer from Mattighofen was clearly not yet ready to aim for the MotoGP title, even though it is on the rise and will soon be constantly present in the fight for the top. Since his debut in the World Championship, 'JackAss' has had to find his place with a lot of effort and until now, he has always managed to reconfirm himself. “ Twelve months ago, I was told that I would be unemployed, and lo and behold, during the last race, I fell while I was in the lead... I think we can be proud of the past year ».

In 2024, he will again have to deal with Ducati which largely dominates the championship. “ We are the only manufacturer who constantly fights with them. Compared to last season, we have taken a step forward and we hope to be able to close this gap at the beginning of next year. We will have a busy winter - concluded Jack Miller and we will move forward for next year ».
