MotoGP, Lin Jarvis makes a splash: "I can't reveal the name of the team, but the goal of having four Yamaha riders will be achieved in 2025."

It's a small phrase dropped by Lin Jarvis that has the effect of a bombshell: Yamaha is preparing the MotoGP chessboard for 2025.

Lin Jarvis knows his stuff...

In the world of MotoGP, preparations for next season are already making a lot of noise, especially with the promise made by Yamaha about its expansion on the grid. Lin Jarvis, the director of Yamaha Motor Racing, revealed to Corriere dello Sport a bold plan to strengthen Yamaha's presence from 2025, promising the addition of two more M1s via a satellite team, which is strongly suspected to be Gresini Racing …

« From next year we will increase our fleet with two additional Yamaha M1s on the grid, supported by a satellite team. I cannot disclose the name of the team yet, but I assure you that the goal of having four Yamaha riders will be achieved ", said Jarvis, in comments relayed by AS, illustrating the ambitions of Yamaha to get out of the difficult period they are going through, helped by the new regulatory concessions.

This development fuels rumors from the paddock which suggest a major upheaval for Gresini Racing team, currently equipped by Ducati and including the brothers Marquez. Such a change would not only involve two Ducati less on the grid, but also an opportunity to Marc Marquez to join Prima Pramac with a Ducati official of the current year.

Gresini with Yamaha would push Marc Marquez to Pramac Ducati which Jorge Martin no longer wants

Speculation is fueled by statements by Gino Borsoi, team manager Prima Pramac, who recently addressed these rumors with skepticism: “ switch to Yamaha? Who started these rumors? People can talk and write, but the facts are different »Says Borsoi, reaffirming the strong relationship between Pramac et Ducati, which he describes as “ a pure and constructive collaboration. »

However, when interviewed in Jerez, Borsoi could not hide a mischievous smile when the potential passage of Gresini to Yamaha, which could indirectly facilitate the transfer of Marc Marquez at Pramac.

Meanwhile, Uccio Salucci, the close collaborator of Valentino Rossi and team manager VR46, clearly positioned his team on the side of Ducati : " we have a fantastic relationship with Ducati. I can say we are about to renew our contract »

As the paddock prepares for a 2025 season full of twists and turns and strategies, Yamaha looks set to play a leading role in redefining the MotoGP field, with Gresini Racing team potentially at the forefront of this transformation.
