MotoGP, Qatar – Johann Zarco Contrary to the other pilots: "Let's go, I'm not worried"

Unlike the majority of MotoGP riders, Johann Zarco is not afraid to go to the Qatar Grand Prix next weekend.

This is an opinion that stands out from that of all the other pilots of the MotoGPThe vast majority want to see next weekend's Qatar Grand Prix cancelled due to the ongoing war in the Middle East. For their part, Johann Zarco appears much more optimistic.

He and LCR will be at the Losail circuit, while Yamaha has announced that its two teams will not be present . Other teams may be led to make the same decision, while some riders will try to minimize risks by arriving as late as possible on Thursday and leaving as early as possible on Sunday, like Marc Márquez.

The pilots had joined forces to send a letter to the organizer requesting cancellation, but three pilots reportedly did not sign it. Johann Zarco Is he part of it? We don't know, but the French driver gave a reassuring speech to Canal+.

Johann Zarco

“It leads into another circuit that I like, which is perhaps less physical than this one. After that, the current situation in Qatar is normal. That’s what we’re told. And it’s difficult not to believe the Qatari government because they’re the ones assuring us that everything is fine. The embassies advise against going there for tourism, but they say that if it’s a necessity to go, we can ,” he explained.

"In fact, to cancel this Grand Prix, we need to wait for a case of force majeure. That is to say, something that, for the moment, isn't happening. Many drivers are asking themselves the question after these elections in the United States. After that, things could change. Qatar assures us that they won't."

“Let’s go. Personally, I’m not worried about my life, let’s say ,” he assured. “The biggest concern is being there and having trouble entering the airspace and getting stuck, but I guess that won’t be the case. I’m happy to be continuing on to Qatar; it allows for a short stopover on the way back to Europe so I can adjust to the time difference twice.”
