The Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, stated: « We welcome the unconditional approval given by the government, during the Council of Ministers meeting on April 15, 2026, for the renewal of MotoGP in Malaysia from 2027 to 2031.This renewal goes far beyond simply keeping Malaysia on the MotoGP world calendar. It demonstrates our commitment to consolidating Malaysia's position as a leading motorsport destination, while creating opportunities through economic growth, talent development, and industry expansion. Most importantly, MotoGP in Malaysia has become a unifying force for Malaysians, strengthens our national pride, and remains Malaysia's longest-running international sporting event since its inaugural edition in 1991. »
