Did you miss the sprint race of the British MotoGP Grand Prix? Or do you simply want to watch it again? You've come to the right place! Here's a video recap of what you absolutely shouldn't have missed this Saturday at the Silverstone circuit.
As a reminder, the first three rows of the starting grid for the sprint race were composed of Jorge Martín (Aprilia), Raul Fernandez (Aprilia) and Ai Ogura (Aprilia). Behind, followed Fabio DiGiannantonio (Dozens), Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) and Marc Márquez (Ducati). Then Alex Marquez (Dozens), Franco Morbidelli (Ducati) and Peter Acosta (KTM) made up the third line. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) was 13th.
Note the absence of Maverick Vinales (KTM) and Fermín Aldeguer (Ducati), replaced respectively by Pol Espargaro et Iker Lecuona. Cal Crutchow also continues its replacement of Johann Zarco (Honda) during his convalescence.
When the lights went out, Jorge Martín got the best start, ahead of Ai Ogura and Fabio Di Giannantonio . Raúl Fernández was jostled a bit and dropped back to sixth place in two corners, while Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Márquez both gained a position and even touched each other.
In the fourth corner, Cal Crutchlow crashed but was able to continue. Iker Lecuona also went off the track, following contact with Franco Morbidelli , and had to retire. The incident was reviewed by Race Direction, which did not penalize the Italian rider.
Marc Márquez passed Bezzecchi , and Di Giannantonio did the same on Ogura , but the Japanese responded.
On lap four, Fernández crashed while Crutchlow pitted. On the following lap, Bezzecchi overtook Márquez , who had lost some ground. The #93 rider was also passed by his brother and began his descent down the order due to a tire problem.
Di Giannantonio encountered the same problem and was also overtaken, first by Bezzecchi and then by Álex Márquez . While he managed to salvage fifth place, the same could not be said for Marc Márquez , who continued to plummet, passed in turn by Pedro Acosta and then Joan Mir , and finishing neck and neck with Diogo Moreira in ninth place.
In front of, Jorge Martín won after leading the race from the first to the last corner, ahead Ai Ogura et Marco Bezzecchiwho appeared exhausted and very emotional. Behind this 100% Aprilia podium, Alex Marquez et Fabio DiGiannantonio placed the first two Ducatis. Fabio Quartararo finished 14st.
