Dominique Aegerter attempts a reconnaissance lap but returns to the pits before setting a time.
A little before mid-session, Jesko Raffin, Luca Marini, Edgar Pons et Johann zarco start to roll. The French driver lowers Raffin's time by more than 10 seconds! 1'30.697 then 1'29.093 and 1'27.729, which, given the track conditions, is quite impressive...

Marcel schrotter, another local of the stage, highlights himself by temporarily positioning himself second behind the Frenchman, but the latter drives home the point with a 1'26.290.
Behind him is the parade; Cortese, Simon, Syahrin, Siméon, Schrotter, Rins, Luthi, Marquez and Morbidelli are fighting to get a place in the Top 10.
We note that, 10 minutes before the checkered flag, Sam Lowes, one of the serious contenders for the title, has still not taken to the track…
Eight minutes before the end of the session, Rins, Nakagami and Cortese take advantage of the last stop of zarco to take the advantage on a track that is now completely dry, the Pons rider setting a 1'26.062 on the handlebars of his yellow Kalex.
A shy sun can even be seen behind the clouds, Takaaki Nakagami does not intend to stop there and sets a lap in 1'25.377, a time which relegates everyone to almost 4 tenths and will serve as a reference this afternoon.
Johann zarco positions himself at the last minute 2nd in front alex rins and the ghost Sam Lowes.
Xavier Simeon occupies provisional 16th place, Robin Mulhauser the 26th.
