To pay tribute to Anthony Delhalle, Eurosport Events is launching the “Anthony Delhalle EWC Spirit Trophy”. This first trophy will be awarded at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on April 16.

Eurosport Events wanted to pay a strong and lasting tribute to Anthony Delhalle. World Endurance Champion with the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, Anthony was appreciated by the entire FIM EWC field as much for his driving qualities as for his human qualities and his discreet but combative character.

In the same spirit as the Colin McRae ERC Flat Out Trophy in the European Rally Championship, created to pay tribute to the world rally champion, Eurosport Events will launch the “Anthony Delhalle EWC Spirit Trophy” from the 24 Heures Motos.

The trophy will crown a driver or team, amateur or official, noticed by a strong action during the race: a comeback, a motorcycle repair, assistance to another competitor, a collective or individual exploit. This honorary award will be awarded by a jury on each event of the FIM EWC championship in order to keep the sporting spirit and character of a great driver like Anthony Delhalle alive for a long time to come on the circuits.

Jessie Delhalle, Anthony's wife, will present the first “Anthony Delhalle EWC Spirit Trophy” on Sunday April 16 at the finish of the 24 Heures Motos.
