In 2027, Buriram, Thailand will host the opening round of the new technical era of the MotoGP.
The 2027 FIM MotoGP World Championship will begin in Thailand, at the Thai Grand Prix, held at the Buriram circuit from March 5 to 7, 2027.
Thailand will host the opening round of the season for the third consecutive year, confirming its growing importance within the championship and the passion of its ever-expanding fanbase. Following the success of the opening Grands Prix in 2025 and 2026, Buriram will once again welcome the world's best riders for the launch of a historic chapter in MotoGP.
The 2027 Thailand Grand Prix will be historic as it will be the first race held under the new technical regulations that will come into effect for the 2027-2031 cycle. Fans around the world will thus witness the competitive debut of the new generation of MotoGP bikes, marking the beginning of a new era for the sport.
Buriram has established itself as one of the unmissable events on the MotoGP calendar, thanks in particular to the enthusiasm of the Thai fans, who create an exceptional atmosphere throughout the race weekend each year. This season, Marco Bezzecchi had given Aprilia a memorable victory in the opening round in front of a record crowd of 228,228 spectators, confirming the immense popularity of MotoGP in the region and Thailand's status as one of the championship's most important markets.
