While Bradley Smith crumpled his leg near Oschersleben with a Yamaha from the Endurance Championship, Alex Rins was having his broken collarbone patched up after a training session that went wrong on a 100cc. An operation that went well.

The runner-up in the Moto2 world championship and challenger for 19 points from the provisional general leader Johann zarco should be able to defend its chances at Silverstone in almost a week. Injured following a fall on Wednesday during training, pilot Sito Pons was operated on this Thursday by Dr Xavier Mir of the Quirón Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona.

Doctor Mir, who restores color to the pilots, commented: “ we operated on Alex to treat a fracture of the middle third of his left clavicle. We reduced the fracture and placed a titanium plate with six screws. We carried out a control x-ray which confirmed that the fracture was indeed reduced and we then closed the wound. He will remain in hospital until tomorrow with analgesic treatment and he should be able to start rehabilitation next Monday ».

The British Grand Prix will take place from September 2 to 4.
