Moto2 FP3, in Austin as elsewhere, allows teams and riders to freely test their bikes without the pressure of a stopwatch. But the competitors in the smallest category are extremely competitive, and no one is messing around among the young guns. Yesterday was a very eventful day. Held in the rain, the two sessions held plenty of surprises, with numerous crashes in each. Angel Piqueras (KTM MT Helmets MSi), winner in Argentina, fell but still finished first in FP1. Then, during Practice, it was Matteo Bertelle (KTM Levelup MTA) who stood out, he who already has two pole positions in 2025. It was necessary to keep an eye on the brilliant rookie Maximo Quiles (KTM CFMoto Aspar Team), who is competing in his first Grand Prix here. His training with Marc Marquez makes him a contender to watch, despite his 17 years.
Even if you already know the outcome of this session, come and relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

Matthew Bertelli, very fast over a lap since the beginning of the year, is the first driver to shine. The start of the session is punctuated by a fall of Cormac Buchanan (KTM Denssi Racing – Boé). Adrian fernandez (Honda Leopard Racing) and Alvaro Carpe (Red Bull KTM Ajo) take the lead in the session.
Then it's the turn ofAngel Piqueras to get his legs going, he who had led FP1 in the wet. In turn 4, very fast, David Almansa lands violently! Let's hope everything goes well for the Spaniard, who is one of the fastest drivers at the moment.

Once again, the young Maximo Quiles is back in the lead, and we have a feeling we might be exhausted saying it before the end of the season.

With less than five minutes left, Matteo Bertelle is still ahead. The Italian is impressive. New fall of Pini (KTM Liqui Moly Intact GP), after the one he suffered in Practice.
Ultimately, at the end of the day, Matthew Bertelli concludes this session in the lead, just ahead Angel Piqueras et Joel Kelso (KTM Levelup MTA). Adrian fernandez is fourth, while Scott Ogden (KTM CIP Green Power) completes the top 5.
