Joan mir

Joan Mir crashed again during the German GP, and is experiencing exactly the same start to the season as in 2025.

Difficult for Joan mir to be smiling on the evening of the German Grand Prix, which he concluded with yet another crash. This was his 12th crash in races since the start of the season out of 22 contested, more than half.

In fact, he only saw the finish line of both races in the same weekend during the Czech Republic GP, with the exception of his retirement in Thailand, which was due to a technical problem.

Worse still, he crashed in both races three times this season: in Brazil, the United States, and the Netherlands. In Austin, he managed to restart in the sprint race to finish 15th, but he was originally in contention for a podium finish. This situation has been a recurring pattern, a carbon copy of his season last year.

At the time of the 2025 summer break, he was 19th in the league with 32 points and 12 clean sheets, while this year he is 18th with 26 points and 12 clean sheets. However, Mir has demonstrated his speed by often finishing in the top 10 and achieving a podium finish in Barcelona this season, which was ultimately taken away due to low tire pressure.

Joan Mir Luca Marini

But he hasn't been able to translate that into results in races, and the gap is widening with his teammate Luca Marini, who is tenth in the overall standings and 53 points ahead of him. At the German Grand Prix on Sunday, he was riding behind Marini when he crashed in the opening laps. He now hopes to turn things around when MotoGP resumes in early August.

“It’s a real shame to end the weekend like this. I had a good start to the race and was neck and neck with Luca, just waiting for the right moment to try and overtake and then attack the Yamaha riders. I lost the front end in the last corner and that’s where our Sunday ended. Luckily, I’m okay, but this situation is really frustrating. Now we have time to recharge and come back after the break with a clearer head.”, did he declare.
