An agreement between the government ofAragon and Dorna Sports predicts that the world championship will be held at MotorLand until 2026. The Motorland Aragon circuit will host MotoGP™ for the next three years thanks to an agreement reached between the Government of Aragon and Dorna, guaranteeing the hosting uninterrupted event of this event for the next three years (2024, 2025 and 2026).

This Tuesday, the Minister of Environment and Tourism and the President of Motorland, Manuel Blasco, signed this commitment, which the General Director of Dorna Sports, Carmelo Ezpeleta, approved.
The previous contract, signed in 2022, provided that Motorland would host three Grands Prix over five years. However, as the event did not take place at Motorland in 2023, the current contract only guaranteed two Grands Prix from 2024 to 2026.

Thanks to discussions with Dorna, the regional government's determination to revitalize and promote the Aragon speed circuit has resulted in an increase in the number of Grand Prix races. The community is thus assured of being able to enjoy a MotoGP™ Grand Prix every year until 2026, after which a new contract will be necessary. This inclusion is subject to the conditions already established in the contract and will require an additional investment of eight million euros from the Government of Aragon. This amount corresponds to Dorna's royalty for each of the Grand Prix.

This increase reflects the commitment of the Government of Aragon to the circuit and the territorial development it implies, given that its impact on the territory and on the entire community far exceeds this figure. A study on the economic, reputation and projection impact of Motorland Aragon, carried out by the Development Institute of Aragon and analyzing the impact of the activity of these facilities on the territory, determined that the impact of circuit in the years when Alcañiz hosts the MotoGP™ World Championship amounts to 47 million euros.

This analysis reveals that each member of the public who attends this event spends 211,20 euros per day and 463,5 euros per stay. Additionally, this figure includes the 5 people involved, including the drivers, their respective teams, the GP organization, marshals and workers, with an average stay of 568 days and a weighted average spend per person and per day of approximately 5,20 euros for accommodation, catering, transportation and other expenses.
In addition, the economic impact due to the media projection of Motorland Aragon and the MotoGP™ Grand Prix worldwide amounts to 14,9 million euros.
