Marc Marquez's day at the Circuit of the Americas took a dramatic turn, going from a potential triumph to a disappointing crash as he led the race, ahead of Pedro Acosta and Jorge Martín. This fall prevented him from winning what could have been his eighth victory on this track.
The Cervera driver, who had slightly downgraded in favor of Pecco Bagnaia from the start, quickly stormed the peloton in a daring attempt to regain the lead. This ardor almost cost Marc Marquez and Jorge Martín, who brushed against each other in the last corner, highlighting the fierce competitiveness of the driver.
« Until this fateful turn, the race was spectacular. I felt in control, despite some issues with my front brake. The fall ? It's the risk of the job, " told Marc Marquez to DAZN, visibly dejected but unharmed. “ There was this problem with the brake from the start. At turn 11, the front brake no longer responded as it should. I tried to brake several times, but the speed was increasing, and in my attempt to slow down with the bike leaning, I crashed"

Marc Marquez: “ yes, I fell, but I was in contention for victory, and that's a great satisfaction »
This fall did not dampen his determination or his recognition for the work accomplished by his team: “ It is in these moments that we recognize progress. We were competitive, and that's what counts. Yes, I fell, but I was in contention for victory, and that's a great satisfaction"
Marc Marquez remains optimistic about the rest of the season, despite the setback: “ we must maintain this dynamic. This weekend was a little more complicated, but we are already preparing for Jerez, a circuit that suits us better. We will adjust some technical details with the technicians, in order to perfect the GP23 to my style"
The Spanish driver, who leaves the United States in 8th place in the championship with 36 points, sums up: “ what is crucial is that we know where to improve. Every incident has its reason, and this is the most important. The team and I are on the same wavelength and we show a good level"
