The Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix has begun, but the transfer rumors never stop; Davide Brivio, team principal of the Aprilia Trackhouse Racing satellite team, has spoken about his rider Ai Ogura. The secret has been out for several weeks, and now the official announcement should only be a matter of time. Ai Ogura should logically join Yamaha in 2027, thus leaving room for a driver who is currently unknown at Trackhouse, although Brivio is giving some hints as to the avenues explored by the American team.
When questioned during Practice, Davide Brivio didn't mince words when discussing the future of his protégé. « Frankly, there's not much to hide. Ai informed us that he wouldn't be continuing with us next year.But it's not up to me to say where he's going. It's a bit disappointing, but everyone is free to make their own choices. When he signed, we considered the possibility that after two years, he might want to join a factory team. That was part of the agreement, and we will now look for a solution. » he declared for Sky Sports.

Brivio, a leading figure in MotoGP, has not given any clear clues regarding his successor, but assures that he is aiming for someone talented who could perform immediately. “I always enjoy working with beginners; seeing their progress is always exciting. But I think that, given Trackhouse’s current performance with this bike, it’s time to bring in an experienced rider.” Someone capable of immediately getting on the podium or winning races. We need to tap into that potential.Of course, motorcycles will be different in 2027. but we have great confidence in the work done, or to come, by Aprilia » he added.
From what we understand, the most serious contender currently appears to be Joan Mir, a Honda rider who is currently without a ride. Luca Marini is also not expected to join any team at this time. But the transfer market could well hold a few surprises in the coming weeks.
