Once again, Joan Mir failed to see the finish of a MotoGP Grand Prix in Spain. This latest retirement is already the fourth in five races in this format this season, a sad statistic that has left him stagnating in the bottom third of the standings. However, the 2020 world champion had resources in Jerez : he was sixth at the time of his error, but once again, failed to capitalize on his speed. The Honda factory driver must adopt a different approach if he does not want to be left behind by his colleagues.
What can I say? When it came to talking about his ordeal, Joan Mir was at a loss as to how to explain what had happened to him. « We have to look at the positives from today and the speed we were able to show all weekend.. I managed to be fast, but I wasn't really comfortable. I let Morbidelli pass because I saw he was faster and I tried to follow him and escape the other riders, but he was in a lot of trouble and I went off with him » he declared shortly after arrival.

He knows he has to learn from his mistakes, but yet he makes the same ones over and over again. « We have to analyze everything that happened today.Yes. If there had been eight or nine more laps, it would have been a very good weekend for us, the potential was there – we can be fast, I am faste " he continued.

The winged firm's employees are now focused on Monday's test, which is of crucial importance for the rest of the season. « But we must conclude. Now let us turn our attention to Monday and the future. » he concluded.
