Aleix Espargaró delivered a stunning performance in qualifying for the British Grand Prix. The Spaniard set a time of 1'57.309, lowering the previous Silverstone track record by four tenths and taking pole position. This seventh pole in the premier class for the Aprilia rider confirms his current form and that of his machine.

Behind him, the Ducati official Pecco Bagnaia et Enea Bastianini completed the first row. The Italian, despite having set a fast lap, was frustrated by the behaviour of some drivers. Furthermore, bagnaia experienced a problem with his visor on his second attempt, forcing him to abort his round.

Qualifying was marked by an intense battle for pole position, but also by some tension between the drivers. Marc Marquez was singled out by several of his competitors for adopting aggressive driving. The Spaniard was notably accused of having stuck to the Ducati of bagnaia in order to benefit from his aspiration. The same Marquez then expressed some complaints against Bezzecchi ...

Behind the leading trio, Jorge Martin, Alex Marquez et Brad Binder complete the second line. Marc Marquez, meanwhile, will start from seventh position, closely followed by Maverick Vinales et Peter Acosta.

Franco Morbidelli, Raul Fernandez, Miguel Oliveira, Johann Zarco, Augusto Fernandez, Fabio Quartararo, Luca Marini, Joan Mir, Takaaki Nakagami and wild card Remy Gardner failed to make it out of Q1.
