Article updated until the end of the session.

They dominated absolutely all the practice sessions of the Aragón Grand Prix but none of them found themselves on the podium last Sunday: Certainly, the Yamahas have a revenge to take for this second race contested on the circuit of Motorland Aragón and called the Teruel Grand Prix!

Waiting for this one Sunday at 13 p.m., there are four of them, grouped into 15 points, leading the championship with a new leader at the helm: Joan mir precedes thus Fabio Quartararo, Maverick Vinales and Andrea Dovizioso. But as aptly stated Alex Rins, the latest winner on the Spanish track, there are still theoretically very many of them who have their chance of being titled, since with four races to go if the pandemic allows the championship to come to an end, there are still 100 points to go. distribute while the leader currently only has 121…

To clearly illustrate the uncertainty that characterizes this 2020 championship, the last Grand Prix saw an eighth winner in ten races this season, at the end of 23 laps where the first 10 drivers were in less than 10 seconds, which is the second closest result in the history of the premier Grand Prix category, after Brno 2018.

With the weather forecast a little milder than last week after yesterday's rain, at least until Sunday morning, we will therefore observe this new clash between the Suzukis and the Yamahas, as well as the performance ofAlex Marquez, very convincing for two races.

This morning, the sky is immaculate and the temperatures are 18° in the air and 19° on the ground as the 21 drivers prepare to hit the track for 45 minutes.

Now it's time to go live!

When the red lights go out... Franco Morbidelli preserves the tradition and sets off first on the track, followed by Stefan bradl, before Andrea Dovizioso Don't take your heart rate... which will soon rise to 170!

All drivers chose a soft tire at the front, and all drivers chose a medium tire at the rear, except Bradley Smith which uses a tender.

The drivers set off slowly to warm up their tires during the exit lap, but Fabio Quartararo already scored 1'50.694 during his first flying lap!

In the next passage, Pol Espargaró achieves 1'49.688 before conceding the leadership to Jack Miller en 1'49.266. The best time of last week's FP1 has already been exceeded...

Things don't stop there though and Maverick Vinales recorded a 1'49.176 quickly made obsolete by the 1'48.953 ofAlex Marquez !

At the end of the first run, Alex Marquez precede Takaaki Nakagami, Joan Peace, Maverick Viñales, Jack Miller, Aleix and Pol Espargaró, Cal Crutchlow and Johann Zarco.

Takaaki Nakagami, who had not yet stopped, then achieved the best time in 1'48.622 under the eyes of his future teammate Alex Marquez already sitting in his box.

Conversely, fabio quartararo stopped among the first with the 17th fastest time.

At the restart, the two French drivers ride together, Johann zarco before Fabio Quartararo, but this does not allow them to improve their respective times, and The Devil enters his box again to change his shock absorber after having previously changed the height of the axis of his swinging arm: we are working hard on this side, especially since the velocity of the Suzuki is partly attributed to the new Öhlins BDB50 shock absorber...

10 minutes from the checkered flag, no one has yet put a new soft tire on the rear and the times are not improving.

Alex Marquez is the first to raise the soft rubber, followed by Stefan bradl, but it's Joan mir with a medium which slightly improves his time before Stefan bradl logically goes back to 12th then 4th place.

Cal Crutchlow has a problem...

Alex Marquez, who took his time to warm up his rear tire, moved to the top of the rankings two minutes from the end of the session, in 1'48.184.

Curiously, the two Honda drivers are still the only ones to use the soft rear tire, which also allows Marc's brother to light the first three sectors in red on the next pass before falling without gravity at turn #17.
