During the private MotoGP test on the Red Bull Ring carried out last July, Aprilia was present but did not appear in the time table since the Noale firm preferred to ride without a transponder.

However, we had seen the RS-GP adorned with a hammerhead shark fin which will certainly be used in racing. Unless something even more spectacular is preferred, since Romano Albesiano talks about reducing aerodynamic drag, which is usually done in the rear part of the bike…

Romano Albesian, Aprilia Racing manager: “We are talking about a really special circuit, where the notion of 'stop and go' is really pushed to its extreme. The performance of the bike in acceleration and braking is therefore crucial, and that is why we are bringing a better engine configuration to Austria, as well as an aerodynamic package whose aim is to reduce drag. It is precisely because of the characteristics of the track that we will use settings that are abnormal compared to usual standards. This allows us to explore some very different, and from a certain point of view, extreme solutions.
I expect this will help us get to know RS-GP even better, with some benefits for future races as well. »
