With Brad Binder having a 106-point lead over Enea Bastianini, the poleman of this Grand Prix, is there any suspense left in this championship?

Honestly, no. Unless there is a dramatic event, nothing more concerning the title; the South African rider will arrive in Moto2 with a crown on his head.

But that will not prevent us from seeing and enjoying great races, as well as applauding with both hands the combativeness of Brad Binder, who does not take advantage of his privileged situation to play grocers!

The conditions (22°/27°) are ideal for this Aragon Grand Prix with a first line composed of Bastianini, Navarro and Canet , Livio Law, initially 3rd having been downgraded for using a non-compliant gearbox, and Gabriel Rodrigo, initially 4th having been demoted 4 places for having waited to take an aspiration.

When the lights went out, Bastianini retained the advantage of his pole position and a break occurred on the first lap, allowing Navarro, Bastianini, Binder, Rodrigo, Oettl and Canet to break away.

In this first group, Navarro and Bastianini seem slightly above the rest and manage to take a few lengths in front of Binder. However, we know the South African's usual strategy, namely to gradually build up power...

In the 4th lap, we see that the second group, led by Mir, Guevara and Quartararo, is faster than the leading men; a junction is therefore to be expected in the long term. This also comes earlier than expected, since the leading men waste time passing and ironing.

Oettl takes the lead of the race ahead of Navarro 14 laps from the checkered flag while Binder and Bastianini, the two title contenders, continue to surpass each other for 3rd position.

3 laps and a few dozen overtakes later, Brad Binder took the lead ahead of Di Giannantonio, the fastest man in the warm up. The rookie also temporarily takes the advantage over the Ajo driver a few turns further on.

The second half of the race took place generally under the command of Brad Binder who took 10 other drivers: Bastianini, Di Giannantonio, Oettl, Martin, Mir (started 26th), Navarro, Migno, Canet, Guevara and Rodrigo. However, he had to face attacks from Oettl and, above all, from the two Gresini drivers who were playing the team game. Tempers are heating up and contacts are multiplying…

With 5 laps to go, the pace picks up and 4 men stand out: Binder, Bastianini, Navarro and Di Giannantonio. The overtaking continues and the race is superb.

During the last lap, it is Bastianini who goes first in front of Binder, Navarro and Di Giannantonio, but in the long straight, Navarro and Binder pass: the Red Bull Ktm rider Ajo is titled Moto3 world champion and thus succeeds John Ekerold , 350cc champion in 1980!

fabio quartararo finished 12th, Jules Danilo 19e.
