Brilliant during the winter tests, Maverick Vinales was also brilliant during those of the Qatar Grand Prix, which earned him the start from the first starting line on the grid.

Handicapped in the race by a grip problem with his rear axle, the Suzuki rider reached the finish line in 6th position, thus only equaling his best results in MotoGP, obtained last year in Barcelona and at Phillip Island.

The one who undoubtedly currently represents the most serious hope in MotoGP will therefore do everything to continue his progress and try to get his Suzuki into the Top 5, on a circuit which earned him 10th place last season.

Maverick Vinales: “Although it's a long trip, I'm happy to go to Argentina and get back on my GSX-RR straight away. Since the winter, we have really taken big steps forward, the machine has progressed a lot, and I feel very comfortable. The Qatar qualifying result is proof of our competitiveness, but the final result in the race left me with a bitter taste because it could have been better. I can't wait to start working with my team again, we still have a lot to test and verify; and the room for improvement is there to take a few more steps forward.”
