Article updated live until the end of the session.

As expected, FP3 came to upset the provisional ranking established after the first day of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

After this morning, these are Francesco Bagnaia, Maverick Viñales, Fabio Quartararo, Franco Morbidelli, Joan Mir, Brad Binder, Takaaki Nakagami, Valentino Rossi, Pol Espargaró and Danilo Petrucci who pre-qualified for Q2, with a new World Circuit Misano record of 1'31.127 achieved by the Pramac driver.

All these drivers are held within just 0,5 seconds, which promises a great second part of qualifying at 14:40 p.m.

But for the moment, everyone has 30 minutes to set up their bike in race configuration, that is to say mainly with a full tank of fuel and temperatures similar to those that the riders will experience tomorrow for 27 laps: a sun very present, 27°C in the air, 41°C on the ground, and more wind.

The session is slightly postponed following a delay in MotoE. Here are the new schedules:

When the red lights go out... Return to tradition with Franco Morbidelli who sets off first on the track and fabio quartararo who lets everyone go.

Well, everyone except Francis Bagnaia which stays in its box even longer than the French. The Pramac driver broke the circuit record this morning but suffered a crash later in the session, which was a cause for concern as he has only just returned from his broken leg.

To note that "Pecco” a fait un choix original pour un début de séance…

The session begins with the fall of Bradley Smith in the fast turn 15. The British driver, who was riding with a hard tire at the front, however got up instantly.

A few seconds later, Takaaki Nakagami also made a mistake in the same place, during his first fall of the season: From now on, all MotoGP riders will have had fewer crashes once.

During this time, several of them took the lead, until Maverick Vinales provisionally won 1'32.361 during his third flying lap.

After just 10 minutes, Francesco Bagnaia, already on soft tires, takes command in 1'32.005.

At mid-session, the Pramac driver leads by 25 hundredths Maverick Viñales, then Fabio Quartararo, Joan Mir, Miguel Oliveira, Franco Morbidelli, Andrea Dovizioso, Pol Espargaró, Johann Zarco and Iker Lecuona.

10 minutes from the checkered flag, Joan mir takes second place while Brad Binder does the same with the sixth.

Many drivers improve in the first two areas but fail to make it happen. This is, however, not the case ofAlex Marquez who placed his RC213V in sixth place before being dethroned by Johann zarco.

Unfortunately, the turn of the Frenchman who rolls in the wheel of fabio quartararo is canceled for having exceeded the limits of the track.

Apart from that of Danilo Petrucci who enters the top 10, the session ends without any further improvement, under the domination of a Francis Bagnaia which seems to be moving more and more towards a red Ducati next year…
