This Saturday 23 October 2021, Marc Márquez answered journalists' questions from the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, following qualifying for the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia-Romagna.

We went to listen (via teleconference software) to the words of the Spanish driver, author of the seventh fastest time.

As usual, we report here the words of Marc Marquez without the slightest formatting.

Marc, to what extent did your rescue at the very start of Q2 affect you for the rest of the session? We imagine that must have been hard on your shoulder...

"This was a difficult day. I would tend to say that our qualifying session began during FP4. At that point, I almost fell for the first time when I put on the slick tires, because I drove unintentionally on a wet area. »

" In As for my rescue in Q2, all I can say is that I was very lucky. Frankly, I can't boast of having done this or that thing to avoid the fall. It's true that this event hurt my shoulder a little, but it really only lasted 30 seconds and afterward it didn't constitute a real limitation. In fact, this incident mainly made me lose a little confidence in the bike, and as a result I didn't ride very well afterwards. But even in these circumstances I still achieved acceptable times afterwards. »

" Of the So I told myself that I was going to wait until the last lap because before that my feeling was just not good. But I wanted to attack without really having a good feeling, and in the end I lost the front of the bike. I'm still happy, because my result today is acceptable for the start tomorrow. However, I think I could have started on the second row of the grid, but the most important thing is that I regain the confidence I lack on the bike. But even with this I don't think I have the pace to fight for victory, or even for the podium for that matter, but finishing in the top 5 would be a good result. »

Would you say that the highside that you narrowly managed to avoid could have been one of those accidents typically linked to the behavior of the Honda, with this recurring lack of grip at the rear?

" For This is clearly one of the major problems we have this season. We really need high temperatures to make the rubbers work well, because we are having difficulty heating them, especially the rear tire. »

" I must say that at the time of the incident I was not extremely fast, but it is true that the rear tire takes a long time to heat up, and that is why in certain races we choose the soft mix at this level. Typically today I really suffered at this level, but tomorrow we have to find a way to warm up the rubber more quickly, and I hope it will be different during the race. »
