Misano

The first of the two days of MotoGP testing in Misano kept its promises in terms of emotion and new features. The first was recorded by seeing Marc Marquez return to business on his Honda, even just for the morning. For the seconds, all the brands made their revelations, the most blatant coming from the Honda box with an RC213V that looked like an RS-GP. And then Yamaha finally brought a revised and corrected engine…

On the track, see Marc Marquez signing a 1'32.395 three months after a delicate operation on his right arm was one of the highlights. With this performance, he would have been the best of Honda during Q1 of San Marino Grand Prix which took place last weekend on the same Misano track… He did a morning of work and 39 laps. Today, the eight-time World Champion will be back on track and will assess whether he is ready to return to Aragon, for the next Grand Prix MotoGP which will begin on September 18.

The fastest combined time, however, was Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), recording its best time in 1'31.292, ahead Luca marini (Mooney VR46 Racing) and the Aprilia ofAleix Espargaro. At Aprilia, we recognized having embarked on two development paths. One for Aleix and the other for Maverick Vinales.

The fourth position will have been for Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) which preceded Maverick Vinales (Aprilia Racing) and the Yamaha of Fabio Quartararo. Seventh Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing), ahead of the Ducati Pramac of Johann zarco. To conclude Tuesday's top 10, we find the Honda of Pol Espargaro and the Ducati ofEnea Bastianini (Gresini Racing).

At Yamaha , we worked on the engine and fabio quartararo said he was satisfied and happy to have noticed more speed. A new chassis was also tested but the Frenchman still does not know if he will want to use it for the next race in Aragon. There were six M1s in the box while KTM was not left mobilizing Dani Pedrosa on a new model of the RC16. At Suzuki, the big news was the appearance of Dominique Aegerter on the GSX-RR…

Ducati offered two frames to his two Italians bagnaia et bastianini who said they were delighted with it, to the point that it would be offered for the end of this season. These tests also concerned a helmet, in this case the one that Alpinestars is developing with the freshly reprocessed Andrea Dovizioso who put it to the test at high speed.

This Tuesday is the last day of these important tests. Here are the live events.

For this Wednesday, we expect things from KTM. Brad Binder a en effet déclaré après la journée d’hier :  “mercredi, nous verrons quelques différences visuellement. de son côté, la team manager Guidotti commented : "we want to get the most out of aerodynamics in the future".

The second day of testing for MotoGP riders after yesterday will consist of the morning session from 9 a.m. to 13 p.m., then the afternoon session from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m. The track is officially open: from this moment (9 a.m.) the drivers can start driving... While waiting for his brilliant ant Marc Marquez, Honda has the visit of another species that the brand logically shows on the web.

Lorenzo Savadori inaugurates by entering the track… Here are some photos from our special correspondent:

A.Espargarò et D.Binder are also on track. His brother B. Binder takes the lead with 1'33.448. Aleix Espargaró enters the track. As already happened on the first day of testing, Aprilia immediately started working in the early hours of the morning.

The tenors join the post and here is the first Top 10: Bagnaia, Quartararo, Oliveira, Morbidelli, A.Espargarò, P. Espargarò, Gardner, B. Binder, Fernandez and D. Binder. Pecco Bagnaia installed a new device on the clutch lever.

Marc Marquez yesterday returned to the saddle three months after the operation. The Spaniard was very happy but visibly tired because he had not raced for a long time. This morning, he is on the track, for the moment with the sixteenth time and will decide this weekend if he will resume the race next week in Aragon.

11:00 Two hours after the start of the tests. Here is the ranking: Vinales (1:31.189), Quartararo, Bagnaia, A.Espargarò, Morbidelli, Bastianini, Zarco, Miller, B. Binder and Martin. Eleventh Father Espargarò, Oliveira, A. Marquez, Nakagami, Pirro, M. Marquez, Di Giannantonio, Fernandez, Pedrosa, Gardner, Bradl, D. Binder and Savadori.

In the Yamaha box there is Luca Marmorini and his son, both engine engineers.

He is the consultant of Yamaha for the development of the engine and according to the words of Quarterly after the first day, it seems like things are going well: “ since 2019 I haven't felt such a significant improvement on the bike, especially for the engine power ". During the San Marino Grand Prix, fabio quartararo was checked at 295,8 km/h. Here is the new deal…

Note the fall of Miller, the driver is OK. bagnaia returns to session command, 1'31.172. We need positive feedback from the modified framework that was proposed to him. The goal of the Evolution Framework is to improve turns, given that the framework currently used by Ducati is actually the one introduced in 2020.

Stefan bradl takes to the track on the handlebars of a Honda to the different stern which contains the inertial damper. At the front, we also note a different air intake.

The ranking at lunchtime:

Here we go again ! The all-time record at Misano belongs to Bagnaia in 1'31.065. Marc Marquez was only 6 tenths away from it at lunchtime. Truly remarkable.

At Yamaha we are also working on the fairing.

Updated times, many drivers are not on track, some probably finished early. TOP 10: Quartararo, A. Marquez, B. Binder, M. Marquez, Nakagami, P. Espargarò, Pedrosa, Savadori, D. Binder and Bradl.

Aleix Espargaró finished the test day early because, just before the lunch break, he crashed at turn 13 and suffered a micro-fracture in the little finger of the left hand. He comments: “ I broke the little finger on my left hand, but it does not need surgery. We tried a lot of things, but with this level of grip everything works, so we have to analyze the data calmly. For me a new world championship starts from Aragon".

The finger does not require surgery

Test completed for Ducati :

16:00 p.m. Two hours before the end of the tests! TOP 10: Quartararo (1:31.054), A. Marquez, Nakagami, B. Binder, M. Marquez, Morbidelli, P. Espargarò, Pedrosa, Savadori and D. Binder. Bradl eleventh.

fabio quartararo a déjà terminé les tests, voici ses premiers commentaires : “C’était comme un tour de qualification après l’autre, the new engine works, I'm glad Yamaha kept their promise because I wouldn't have continued with them for two years with the current engine. In addition to the improvements, I see the people at the Yamaha garage determined with the desire to continue improving.r “.

The time signed by Quarterly (1'31.054) is 11 thousandths lower than the track record established by bagnaia in 2021 (i.e. 1). However, the Frenchman's time will not be approved because it was achieved during testing (and not during an official session of a Grand Prix).

Although he is returning from a long injury layoff, Marc Marquez is still on the track, he also laps in the afternoon: for the moment he has done 12 laps in the afternoon, he is in 5th place.
