Jorge Martín began the summer break of MotoGP As the championship leader, after a solid start to the season marked by great consistency, without having dominated the competition. In recent Grands Prix, he has even lost performance and has found himself running around the top 5.
The Spanish driver is fully aware of his situation and acknowledged it at the end of the German Grand Prix that he wouldn't hold onto the top spot in the championship for long if he continued like this.The biggest risk at the moment, apart from Ai Ogura who has been gaining momentum, is the lightning-fast return of Marc Márquez, who is now only 18 points behind him.
We mustn't forget Marco Bezzecchi either, who largely dominated the start of the season before going through a rough patch. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Raúl Fernández aren't far behind either, and number 89 will have to fight for his place.
However, the rider he is watching most closely remains Márquez, who in his eyes is the benchmark and a true objective. Jorge Martin wants to believe in his chances of winning the title against him, but knows that he will have to take a step forward with Aprilia, otherwise he will not succeed.
