The Thailand Grand Prix was marked by an incident between Joan Mir and Marc Marquez, which caused controversy. After a crash early in the race, Marc Marquez tried to move up the order. He caught up with Joan Mir and tried to pass him on the inside of a corner. The two bikes touched, sending Mir wide and causing him to lose several positions. Both riders gave their version of events, giving the impression of accusing each other of being responsible for the collision.
Joan mir did not have his best day on the Thai circuit, finishing the race with her Honda to a disappointing 15th position after a controversial collision with Marc Marquez. After a fall, Marquez had managed to get back on track, but at the back of the pack. In his attempt to come back, he tried to overtake Mir, resulting in a touch that forced the latter to leave the track to avoid a fall, thus losing precious time.
Asked by DAZN about this incident, Marquez was quite evasive. He simply said: " Let him explain it ", referring to Mir, without going into details. Mir, for his part, explained his experience clearly: “ if you want me to say it, i can say it. no problem. I think he could say it better because he is the one in control of the situation.. When you're behind and you hit a driver, I don't have much to say. »

Joan Mir: “ Marc Marquez should have had a long lap »
Joan mir felt the pressure of the maneuver Marquez, saying: “ I noticed he pushed me and I went off track. That's what I can say, but he can say why he did it. The problem is that I think that this maneuver, this contact, was not necessary. Because if you come with more pace from behind, you can overtake on the straight.. After this turn there was a straight line and he could have easily passed. »
Although he acknowledged the incident, Joan mir did not want to make a harsh judgment on the action, while mentioning a possible sanction for Marquez: " but hey, I'm not going to judge this action, because every time i say something it goes against me. So, let everyone judge and draw their own conclusions. ».
But the official Honda specify anyway… " What doesn't seem fair to me is that when someone touches a driver like that, he keeps going up and then he's given a position to give back. It's not just about the places he made me lose. So I think the logical thing would have been a long lap, like they've done in the past. But hey, that's really what I don't understand about this action.. »
With this experience, Mir shows his frustration with the situation, while calling for a fairer assessment of race incidents. His current position in the championship and the challenges ahead remain major concerns, and he will need to learn from this race for the next stages of the season.
